DoubleClick acquires Tangozebra
LONDON, March 1st, 2007 - DoubleClick Inc., a leading provider of digital advertising technology and services, today announced that it has acquired 100 per cent of Tangozebra, a pioneer in the rich media industry and a leading digital marketing technology provider in Europe for advertisers and publishers. This acquisition underscores DoubleClick’s commitment to providing leading technology and best in class service on a global basis to the fast-growing rich media market.
Tangozebra will add the UK’s leading self service rich media authoring and trafficking solution, strong know-how and development capability for emerging technologies including podcasting and in-game advertising, high end creative services and production as well as research tools for campaign effectiveness.
DoubleClick’s and Tangozebra’s rich media activities in Europe will be merged. Tangozebra’s clients and creative agencies will continue to enjoy uninterrupted access to the well-regarded “TABS” rich media solution while the industry-leading DART platform for advertisers and publishers will be utilized for ad serving scalability and reporting once the products are fully integrated.
Clients of DoubleClick and Tangozebra will benefit from a feature-rich integrated ad management suite across all digital advertising formats, including advanced reporting, targeting, media authoring and trafficking. The offer covers the full range of creative services and production, search bid management and media optimisation as well as solutions for many emerging technologies, e.g. mobile, in-stream, in-game, video serving, podcasting and a brand survey tool to measure campaign effectiveness.
DoubleClick will continue to support all users of the Tangozebra rich media end emerging technology products, including those using Tangozebra in conjunction with competitive third party ad servers.
DoubleClick’s team will grow to more than 250 staff servicing clients across all of EMEA with offices in London, Dublin, Paris, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Milan, Madrid and St. Petersburg.
Tangozebra’s managing director James Booth, who co-founded Tangozebra in 1996 with James Barrs, will head DoubleClick’s rich media business in EMEA and report to Ben Regensburger, President DoubleClick International. James Barrs will continue to report to James Booth.
